T-Racks 3 is a long overdue update to IK's classic T-Racks.

In the midst and trends of music software companies racing to re-create all the old and cool vintage outboard gear, IK Multimedia brings T-Racks 3 to the table. Let's take a look...
Promoted as a mastering solution, the original T-Racks found it's way into many engineers DAWs for many applications other than mastering. Now, the new version not only includes the original four processors (Compressor, Limiter, EQ, and Clipper), but also comes with a rack of new emulations that aim to please:
670 Compressor/Limiter
This model is based on the "holy grail" of compressors/limiters: the Fairchild 670. With a faithful reproduction of every control, this incredibly accurate model strives to capture every nuance of the legendary classic.
Tube Program Equalizer
This model is based on one of the best tube EQs ever made: the Pultec EQP-1A.
Opto Compressor
Optical compression has a sound all it's own. Fans of original LA-2As should enjoy having this alternate flavor at their fingertips.
Brickwall Limiter
This multi-algorithm brickwall limiter can put the finishing touches on a mix, or squeeze it within a inch of it's life for that "radio ready" sound. (and we all really want that, don't we?)
Linear Phase Equalizer
An accurate, high precision EQ that offers more control and a more neutral/accurate sound the the original T-Racks EQ.
These, coupled with the original four processors give it a total of nine processors. But wait, there's more: TR3 has a new configurable setup that allows for front end parallel processing, allowing for a maximum of 12 processors to be utilized in the signal chain at the same time.
All the modules in TR3 also feature a optional M-S mode. M-S means “mid-side” and allows for independent control of the “center” part from the “sides” or “lateral” part of the program material. So in addition to being able to individually work on the left and right channels you will be able to separately process the “center” and “lateral” part of your mix.
In addition to all the new toys and features, TR3 also has new and very useful metering section, allowing the end user a versatile rack of tools for mixing and mastering applications. How does it sound? Download the demo at http://www.ikmultimedia.com and judge for yourself. Try it out on more than just a two mix: drums, vocals, etc. You may be pleasantly surprised.
